In the past to lose weight, I would always try the "quick fix" or fad diets. I would basically starve myself and/or over-do it in the gym. The dotFIT programs taught me how to control my cravings and not necessarily diet, but control my portions. I was always so scared of the scale in the past. I would limit myself to weighing once a month and would practically ignore the numbers. "Numbers don't matter, it's how my clothes fit"...which is somewhat true, but my clothes were too tight! In this program, I would weigh myself every day. I am no longer scared of the scale! I learned about my body and how what I ate affected my body. I was able to adjust my eating and daily routine based on this. I would highly recommend this program to others and I have! The best thing about my success is that I am excited to try on clothes. I would always be somewhat embarrassed to say I'm a size 10 or a 12. Now I am ecstatic to say I am a 6!!! I started this program at 171 pounds and currently weigh in at 153. It's amazing to me. I haven't been this size since high school. I feel so great about myself. Thank you to everyone that contributed to my success!!
Update: When I found out I was pregnant it was one of the happiest days of my life! For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a baby. However, I'm going to be honest and say that I was a little worried about gaining too much weight. I worked so hard to lose weight, I didn't want it to just pile back on. I did a lot of reading and learned that I only needed to eat 300 more calories than I normally ate, per day. I used the tools that were provided to me by the dotfit team and gained weight in the healthy way that I lost weight. I weighed myself everyday and tried to only gain the recommended one pound per week.
I gave birth to my beautiful healthy baby boy on October 28, 2011! I gained a total of 33 pounds. A few weeks after baby was born, I started right back on my routine of weighing everyday. I still needed to eat the recommended 300 more calories per day because I was/am breastfeeding. I am proud to say that I am back to my pre-baby weight and my baby is 5 months old! Thanks again dotFIT!
