The hidden risk potential of typical supplement use is the long term ingestion of non-synergistic products. In other words, the mixing of products that have a few similar ingredients because that gives you the potential to unknowingly ingest unsafe levels of nutrients that have narrow ranges of safety and efficacy like zinc, selenium, calcium, iron, folic acid, etc. Virtually no supplement user knows the safe upper limits of each necessary nutrient and when you mix products, you can easily cross this level. Doing so for long periods of time can have the opposite effect of maintaining health and increase the risk of disease. Additionally supplement manufactures that do not follow Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) often produce contaminated products.

The greatest risk for most is the potential drain on the wallet from purchasing products that don't work. Otherwise there is certainly a risk in not using supplements to make up for important nutrients and compounds the diet can't or doesn't supply. But properly manufactured and recommended dietary supplements pose virtually no risks. By using the dotFIT program supplements and recommendations properly, you eliminate known risks for the general population. Because of dotFIT's medical screening and all product recommendations being synergistic, meaning the user will always remain in the safe and optimal range of all intakes including diet, our customers have the best chance of enhancing health, fitness, sports and productive longevity goals when compared to a non-supplemented state. Below are typical Q&As for the dotFIT Fitness Vault:

What are some major things that we should look for in the non-dotFIT supplements our clients take to let them know that they may fail a drug test?

25% of dietary supplements are contaminated, with anabolic steroids being the #1 contaminate. Lead, cadmium, mercury are the other main culprits. Over 200 manufacturers (all were products sold on BB.com) were caught with contaminated products. It is the long-term use of contaminated products that can catch up to you.

What does dotFIT do to prevent this from happening?

All our manufactures follow strict cGMPs and are audited regularly including 3rd party product testing. Banned substances can't happen with any of our products for the following reasons: 1) The easy one is First String, Active MV and Whey Smooth because they are NSF-certified (separate test specifically for banned substances that then issues a seal) but all others go through EXACTLY the same manufacturing/ testing processes before distribution (it's just another fee on each batch to get the NSF certification for sports). 2) In fact products go through it 3 times in many occasions (Canada rechecks everything). 3) The best proof is that Pro and College teams have been using our products since our inception. All players, including our CEO's  son who is a Division 1 football player, have been tested numerous times and there’s NEVER an issue. That’s your best testimonial - not one of the thousands has failed any drug test. And we don't change manufacturers like other companies regularly do. Note: NSF certification doesn't mean it works, it only means it was tested specifically for banned substances. NSF doesn't even test for the right amounts of all ingredients listed on label. Validating ingredient amounts and forms, as we do for EVERY product, is another test that includes testing for any contaminates. All this means is that there are MORE insurances for everyone including tested athletes with dotFIT products than all other products including NSF certified products. And finally everything you may want to know (and more) regarding all dotFIT supplements, manufacturing practices and recommendations will be found in the Supplement Referenced Guide (SRG).
