Have you verified that your system is not in 64 bit kerneling mode? (go to: Apple->About This Macintosh->More Info->Software). Where did you purchase your armband? If it is the
bluetooth model or the new BodyMedia Core model, they do not sync to the dotFIT me program. Please contact us directly for tech support at 1-877-436-8348 option 0 as message boards are not an appropriate means for trobuleshooting.

Also, we have a Beta of the new software available at www.dotfit.com/mac that users can try if they like.

Thanks!

I am also running on a Mac and have rebooted in 32 bit mode as directed below. I still get an error 'armband not found' when I try to sync the device. I know the device is connected because the body media sync recognizes it. However my account is with dot fit.
How can I get the system to recognize the exerspy?

Robert,
If you are getting this issue with a Mac then it is more than likely that you have a newer Mac (or upgraded to Lion). We recently discovered there was an issue with the newer Macs and uploading the armbands. Apple updated some things and didn’t tell anyone. This causes the newer Macs to be in 64 bit kernelling mode by default. The software for the armband upload utility was designed for 32 bit Macs. We are working on a fix for this but in the mean-time there is a work around. Go to the link below and boot your Mac in 32 bit mode by holding the 3 and the 2 key down while you restart the Mac. This will put it in 32 bit mode for Kernelling and it will allow to upload. Keep in mind that the next time you restart your Mac it will be in 64 bit mode so you will have to do this startup option each time you want to upload the armband until we have a software fix created.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773

Once we have a fix for this, it will be available on our software downloads page at www.dotfit.com/software so please keep checking that page for a new tool for 64 bit kernelling issues with a Mac (it will read something like that).

Thanks!
Chad

Note that your armband WILL NOT work with Macs running a 64-bit kernel. If you run Lion, you're out of luck.

Since Macs with 64-bit kernels have been shipping since 2008 and every Mac running Lion has a 64-bit kernel, one should consider the exerspy armband incompatible with the Mac platform.   Reply Edit

I bought my exerspy about 6 months ago and LOVE IT!!! Not only does it have the benefit of telling me exactly how many calories I have burned and steps I have taken, but it helped me with a horrible insomnia problem. I was able to take a graph print out to my Doctor as to my sleep (Or lack of) patterns over 1 weeks time so she could actually see that I cannot sleep more than 2 hours at a time, - (She didnt believe me before), but the computer doesn't lie). Sleep is soooo important to good health, so NOW that she has seen the proof thanks to the exerspy, I am now getting help! Thank you exerspy!!!!   Reply Edit

I purchased my exerspy prompted by my incredibly awesome persinal trainer Teri Tedmon. I have lost total of 58 lbs and the exerspy is the ultimate accountability device tracking calorie burn, sleep and calories consumed! Using the exerspy is easy once it is set up and I highly recommend for those gadget geeks like me that enjoy seeing the results of wieght loss on a daily basis. Thanks exerspy and Teri for helping me reach my goals and being fit , fabulous and 50 years young in 2011!!   Reply Edit

I am a Master Trainer for R.I.P.P.E.D (Resistance, Interval, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance and Diet/Nutrition). I love my Exerspy and the dotFIT program. I also own my own Personal Training Company and several of my clients have puchased the exerspy and love it as well.

Excellent product!! I've been working out for years and only recently have I've been seeing results because of both the DUT program at UFC Gym and the food logging/calorie expenditure features of the Exerspy! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the armband. Though the armband is comfortable, because of the constant sweating, I can't seem to keep the armband odor free despite my washing it regularly. Other than that, it is a stellar product that can be a vital tool in ones weight management arsenal.   Reply Edit

I ordered my exerspy on Saturday night/Sunday morning around 1:00am. After placing the order, I realized that I would be out of town on business, and would not be back for two weeks, as well as my wife being out of town back home in Portland. I called dotfit at 1:30 am, not expecting to get a callback until monday morning, fearing that it would be shipped by the time I spoke with someone. To my surprise, I received a call Sunday morning, well outside of regular business hours, by a guy named Mike. He took down my new shipping address and updated the system.

I will be a long time, repeat customer on more than just my subscription to Dotfit, and look forward to being a regular user.

Five Stars!   Reply Edit

I have always been an active person working out 5-7 days a week. It wasn't until I joined DotFit and bought the Exerspy that I really started seeing results.
In 8 weeks I have lost 15 pounds and 9.3% of my body weight. I feel great!! I log my food everyday and download my armband twice a day to see where I am for that day.
The armband is wonderful. I can see my calorie burn and if I haven't done enough throughout the day, then I take the dogs for a walk around the block. It has definitely made me less of a couch potato.
Thank you DotFit for changing my life. I am happier with myself than I have ever been.   Reply Edit

Sarah -- Unfortunately compatibility of devices is determined by the manufacturer, and there's nothing we can do about it. We do apologize.   Reply Edit

I purchaced the exerspy a few weeks ago now and I absoultly love it! I plan my diet with more acuracy than ever, I can track my sleep patterns, daily calorie burn, and the database for food logging on the dotfit site is emense!! It is so nice to just click and drag my daily menu and not have to write everything in a journal.

Some say that the exerspy does not track movement as well when used outdoors.. I teach a bootcamp two days a week outdoors and have not noticed a difference in calorie reading or activity reading vs. indoor training... this tool is priceless!   Reply Edit

I just joined CRUNCH and I'm very excited about my "new" excercise program. My trainer, Cody has me hooked up with ExcerSpy. After a long battle with breast cancer, I am ready to ROCK it! Cody has me on a really good plan and I feel very confident with ExerSpy and my trainer Cody that I will exceed all expectations! The motivation of the CRUNCH staff is amazing. They're not only dedicated to the facility but truly dedicated in seeing that each and every member meets their own expectations of superior health. Michelle, one of the sales staff explained each and every program that CRUNCH has to offer, WOW is all I can say. The Sales Manager Carlos was also great at explaining training programs and was the one that really got me motivated about ExcerSpy. Thank you CRUNCH personnel. I'll check back after 6 weeks with ExcerSpy to give everyone my honest report!! Good things to come for sure!

I just wanted to thank dotFIT for getting me on the EXERSPY program. I am the biggest fan and believer and am telling everyone about it! Not only have I lost 5 pounds in two weeks, but I am feeling so much healthier.

Knowing how many calories I burn and how I am eating has changed so much. Your system is amazing and I think it would really help everyone who goes on it. I am so fortunate you have helped instill a healthy lifestyle into me while I am young so it will be easier as I get older.
