If you do not wish to install Beta software on your Mac, please click here and follow the instructions so you can upload the exerspy armband on your Mac successfully (and then a link to another page – on this page it should have this info: )

If you are getting this issue with a Mac then it is more than likely that you have a newer Mac (or upgraded to Lion). We recently discovered there was an issue with the newer Macs and uploading the armbands. Apple updated some things and didn’t tell anyone. This causes the newer Macs to be in 64 bit kernelling mode by default. The software for the armband upload utility was designed for 32 bit Macs. We are working on a fix for this but in the mean-time there is a work around. Go to the link below and boot your Mac in 32 bit mode by holding the 3 and the 2 key down while you restart the Mac. This will put it in 32 bit mode for Kernelling and it will allow to upload. Keep in mind that the next time you restart your Mac it will be in 64 bit mode so you will have to do this startup option each time you want to upload the armband until we have a software fix created.

Once we have a fix for this, it will be available on our software downloads page at www.dotfit.com/software  so please keep checking that page for a new tool for 64 bit kernelling issues with a Mac (it will read something like that).

The comments here date back an entire year. This excuse:

"Please Note: Some of the newest Macs use the 64-bit kernel, and the armband software is not yet compatible with this. We are working on a solution."

is no longer acceptable. It's absurd to spend this much money on an armband to have it completely fail on Macs.   Reply Edit

Note that your armband WILL NOT work with Macs running a 64-bit kernel. If you run Lion, you're out of luck.

Since Macs with 64-bit kernels have been shipping since 2008 and every Mac running Lion has a 64-bit kernel, one should consider the exerspy armband incompatible with the Mac platform.   Reply Edit

I am trying to get my armband to upload so I can complete the armband registration (I just got it), but it keeps saying armband not found. Is that because my Macbook is running the OS X LION? If so, is there anything I can do??   Reply Edit

Exerspy worked flawlessly....until I upgraded to OS X LION (10.7). It broke because LION is now 100% 64-bit and Exerspy isn't compatible with 64-bit OS.   Reply Edit

Cannot get it to work on my new Macbook Pro. I'm running 10.6.7 with Firefox 4.0.1. I've installed and reinstalled the Exerspy software and restarted several times, the latest versions of Flash and Silverlight are both installed as well, the software continues to say ARMBAND NOT found.   Reply Edit

You might want to note the O/S requirements for the Mac software somewhere obvious on the download page. I (and a trillion other people) am still running OS 10.4.X or earlier, and so the Mac software doesn't work for me.   Reply Edit
